Giclée Print: Unframed, 'The Henry Bridge’
Overview
Giclée reproduction of "The Henry Bridge" located in North Bennington, Vermont. The original painting is oil on canvas and has the artist’s signature in the bottom right corner "Gilbert Smith". This reproduction has a realistic look and is the same size as the original painting owned by Bennington Museum.
What is Giclée?
A French term meaning, "to spray" referring to how the ink is transferred in the printing process. Large format printers use small sprayers that can match color and apply ink precisely, giving the reproduction a high quality, relative to the original piece. Pigment based inks are used rather than dye-based inks giving a longer lifespan which can generally last from 100 to 200 years without significant fading as it is better at resisting UV light.
