This is the story of the Battle of Bennington and the iconic Monument that commemorates the Patriot victory on August 16, 1777. On that day American militiamen from New Hampshire, Vermont and Massachusetts, aided at a critical moment by the Green Mountain Continental Rangers, defeated a combined British, German, and Loyalist force and helped change the course of the Revolutionary War.
PHIL HOLLAND is a graduate of Bennington College and holds a Ph.D. in English from the University of London. Former Chair of the English Department of Anatolia College in Thessaloniki, Greece, he now teaches English at CCV (the Community College of Vermont). Holland is the author of The Dance Must Follow (poetry, with photographs by Moses Pendleton) and Robert Frost in Bennington County, and the translator (from Greek) of Who Killed Professor X? and A Taste of Greece. A veteran voice actor, he provides voice and writing services through Phil Holland Voice and Word LLC. He lives in Shaftsbury, Vermont.
