Yücel Erdogan

A Turkish-born American artist, Yücel has had a love for upstate New York for the 30 years he’s been in the United States. Yucel built a successful advertising and design career in New York City after coming to the U.S. for a Master’s Degree in graphic design from the Pratt Institute.

Yücel’s award-winning campaigns have aired around the world, including for brands such as Van Cleef Arpels, Tumi, Natori, Nike, Bacardi, Dewar’s and Ciroc. Also an accomplished illustrator and photographer, Yücel’s work has been published in periodicals such as the New York Times, Wall Street Journal and Departures magazine.

Yücel’s greatest passion is painting. His works are energetic, graceful and eye-catching for their unusual depictions of life-forms, often embodying freedom and unrestrained movement. He paints both in a studio on his property in Bennington, VT, and in the soaring space of the historic Ruditis department store in Hoosick Falls, that Yucel has converted to a restaurant, stylish lofts and an art gallery.
