PHIL HOLLAND is a graduate of Bennington College and holds a Ph.D. in English from the University of London. A retired high school and college teacher and administrator, he is the author of Robert Frost in Bennington County (3rd edition, 2023), The Dance Must Follow (poetry, with photographs by Moses Pendleton, 2015), Better English (with M. Ziglina and L. Koufaki, 2011), articles on the history of Bennington, and dramatic monologues for some of its dead. He lives in Pownal, Vermont, and serves on the Board of the Friends of the Bennington Battlefield.
